Prints so far

Here are the two pieces I have completely printed for this assignment. I went a slightly different direction with the composition than I had originally intended. These first two shots are indoor.

I'm not quite sure yet as for how I want to present these. I'm open to suggestion, so let me know what you think. I'll post any ideas that I come up with as soon as I do.

beep boop update

So because I'm happy with the way the classy portraits came out, I've decided to hold off on the zombie portion of it (there will be zombies later in the semester, I promise). I'm beginning to sew the cyanotypes into pillows now, maybe add some of the detailing as well.

i like to work on the floor, tables are overrated

the goods on the drying rack

Uv box

Last night I used the UV box to do some prints and they came out horrible, they were in there for a half hour and turned out mostly white. Can we use the darkroom during the day outside of our own class time at all? Due to the weather the last couple of days haven't been very sunny.

TypoTexture_Process

Well this has actually been an interesting project. I have come up with lots of different small images. This is a very experimental process and as I progress I can see the evolution of it. I am playing with the repetition of textural photographic images and their relationship to type. The type is more textural, most of the time is not meant to be read, and in many cases is just a junction of different letters that dont mean anything other times the are random phrases... Type as texture and texture as type so dont go crazy trying to read everything. Well Here are some of the Images I think best describe this process, they are placed in order so take a look and let me know what you think. Feedback pleas

This is my first image that I'm happy with for this assignment I'm still taking pictures hopefully I will be able to finish taking all of my pictures by tomorrow. For now Im just trying to figure out how to take the same feeling of empty or sadness to my other pictures. Also how i can take pictures to let the viewer know its a break up or her missing her partner without making it to literal or making an essay.

Any ideas on this?

I'm not sure yet how I want to present my images. I had the idea of sewing each of the 8.5 squares together and making a blanket but with some squares in the blanket missing like giant holes. These holes would represent the times when people in the military leave their families and friends for awhile. Its not just time when they have to live without their family or be away from everything they love but also a time when their family, or friends have to live without them. This can also cause a lot of problems for families and pull them apart, causing rifts in friendships and holes in the lives they once had.

unwanted memories

so far for this project i have my murder, young pregnancy, rape, and drugs. i will most likely finish taking pictures this weekend. the cyanotypes of the murder and pregnancy came out pretty nicely. i'm still deciding on how i want to manipulate each photo. i will be experimenting with different ways on thursday. I do know that i will be putting all of these onto a burnt and dirty crumpled piece of white paper.
Okay, so I guess I'll start this off.

I'm still in the process of collecting fish pictures, but I have a few and it's in a slightly new direction. I am still framing them and whatnot, but the pictures of the fish so far are decrepit and dead. The picture I uploaded is the negatives I made for testing and I'm using that picture because I'm kind of lazy/it's what I had ready. I'm still not 100% sure of the execution of the final product, but I'm getting there. Also, these negatives have been changed because they were not making the cyanotypes how I wanted them.
